Worked well to reset the service reminder in Porsche 997.2 and 981 and to check readiness for emissions testing in Ferrari F430.I purchased this to support my 911 and two friend's 911's. So far it has worked flawlessly and basically paid for itself. Now I need to record live data, which I accomplished rather easily. The problem is in the viewing of that data, the user interface is simply unusable for any number of records larger than 10. There is an "Upload Record" menu item but it does nothing on my unit or on the laptop.I also searched for some laptop/PC app to talk with the box but have not been able to locate anything. Really would be sweet if I were able to actually upload the data to my laptop and use Excel.I've submitted email questions but, so far (days have passed, not weeks or more) I have received no response. That's the reason I ding tech support and the product overall as there is virtually no documentation. What they have is generic and even then does not give much in the way of direction.Overall the unit works great, I just think a bit more in the way of documentation (videos, FAQ's, whatever) and a working upload capability would make it better.Good itemWorks as expected to reset engine service alert on boxster. High quality product for cheap price.I have 3 versions of the software on mine. 10.29 10.30 and 11.xx i had to use the older 10.29 to clear an airbag fault but other than that it is awesome. The obd2 stuff works on any obd2 car. I have used it to diagnose the fuel cap and the accelerator pedal in a Chevy. Of course i use the obd2 stuff on the Porsche and the extra stuff that is specifically for a Porsche like the headlight position, the airbag, Tiptronic transmission, the transfer case and a lot more. I have actually only used the specific Porsche program to work on the airbag and the reset the service light. It is well worth this cost. You have to have a Windows computer to update the system on their website but really dont see the need to update it. This is essential for anyone that likes to do their own wrenching. Easy to use, packed full of features, and great price. I dont see how anyone can rate it lower than 5 stars. I dont want to sound mean or smug but I have to think they do not know how to use it or maybe they thought it was to tune the engine like they see on the movies. It shows real time readings from every engine sensor you could want and more. Even shows they last time the DTC light was reset so it is essential when buying a used car. In short it does reading and reset of obd2 engine DTC on any obd2 car and does all the extra stuff like airbag, transmission, instrument gauges, and everything else on Porsches.I received a check engine light (basically tells you the car is ok to drive but take the car to the workshop) after our 5,300 mile Turbo Macan blew the intake boot off. Not wanting to take the car into the $tealership even though the car is under warranty, I decided to look into a home diagnostic tool to help with repairs along the way since we own the car outright. We also have a 991 Turbo S in the family so this would be helpful when that car needs troubleshooting or oil/maintenance service resets.Now onto the unit. It all came well packaged in a sturdy cardboard box. Inside the box, you will find a zippered carry case which houses the iCarsoft POR-II scanner tool, manual, OBD2 cable, USB micro-B cable, and a USB TF card reader. The quality of the unit is pretty darn good for what it is but don't expect German or Japanese precision here. For its intent and purposes, the quality is just fine for its price point.First thing's first if you decide to buy this unit; RTFM!! For those of you who don't know what the heck that means, it means "READ THE EFFING MANUAL"! I don't know how many idiots I have seen over the years complain and bash a product because they were too stupid to learn how to use the tool at hand. Basically, you want to update the diagnostic tool to the latest software/firmware so that it is equipped with the latest definitions and codes for your vehicle. The website also has a step-by-step video that shows you how to download and install the tool needed to update to the latest firmware.Usage: It is fairly easy to navigate through the menus. Unless you are electronics and common-sense illiterate, you shouldn't need to reference the manual for basic usage. I was able to read and then clear the DTC (diagnostic trouble code) code with ease. Money well spent!Just would not power up when connected to the OBD II port on my997.1 . Thought that maybe it was the car. Took that to an Indie and their kit connected straight away. So though it was designed to suit my car it just did not work. Amazon refunded without Quibble so no complaints there.Took out of the box and never read the instructions and reset all service lights for oil and maintenance for a year later. Would have cost me just for an oil change over £200 at a dealer. So paid for itself in 5 minutes. Result as it’s a must have. Buy it you won’t be disappointedThis item does not work straight out the box. You need to go through a quiet lengthy process of downloads to load your vehicles software. Although the unit works well afterwards I found the company somewhat misleading in there listing as this is not made clear. There is no contact number on the somewhat small printed manual hence it takes forever to contact themI feel I wasted a lot of unnecessary time and I actually ordered the Por 11 unite and they sent me a supposedly ungraded version without any software on it. Needless to say I would use them again. ThanksHelped me to reset EML, monitor data on my car for any negative fluctuations.
