.I purchased the Perfection V700 Scanner over 4 years ago and have had no trouble with it that was not operator-error related (failure to fully read instructions). To date, I have scanned approximately 50,000 negatives, slides, and old photographs with my scanner, not to mention documents and other household-related items. I use Photoshop Lightroom Software with the V700 and the scanner has never let m down. My scanner gets used every day, sometimes for 8+ hours or more. While this model is now outdated (Epson has released new and improved models), I feel that one can trust the Epson Brand. If you are a serious scanner, then an upper-grade Epson Scanner is well worth the money. I don't think the average person could wear one or these scanners out!
