I purchased to diagnose the ABS fault light on my 2001 Nissan Maxima.Bottom Line Up Front: It worked and I was able to diagnose the fault to the Rear Passenger Side Speed SensorLong Story: Out of the box, i hooked it up to the OBDII port on my Maxima, and went through the procedures in the manual. When I pressed the button to use the ABS Module, the Autel ML619 gave me an error saying to check the connection and/or check to make sure the unit was properly configured for my car... I tried and re-tried it a bunch of times, rechecking the OBD II connection. I went through the manual and all the buttons on the device and there are no setup options to change which would be specific to my vehicle. I tried it again on my Subaru Impreza, which was having a Check Engine Light Fault, and it was able to read the check engine light fault, but got the same error message from the ABS Module. Needless to say, i was frustrated and packaged the item back up to return it to Amazon. Then I thought, let me check the website and maybe contact customer support.... I opened a customer support chat window and asked them about my specific car.. they told me it should work, but i needed to update the software on the device by downloading it from the website. I downloaded the Software Update application they recommended and connected the device to my PC with the INCLUDED USB cable. The only problem was the application couldn't find the Autel ML619 to update it, even though it was connected to the PC. I contacted customer support again, and they said the USB cable wouldnt work, that I had to pull the MicroSD card from the unit and connect that to to the PC. Only thing is, most PC's don't have MicroSD port, just a standard SD Port. Luckily, I happened to have an adapter handy. Once I plugged Autel 619 MicroSD into the adapter and into the port, the application immediately found it, and gave me a whole bunch of cars by manufacturer to update it with. I selected the ones I was interested in and it updated immediately..I plugged the MicroSD card back into the ML619, connected it to my car a ran the ABS Module and it worked!!Note 1: The Technical Support at Autel was awesome... they were very patient..Note 2: The manual sucks, it doesn't say anything about not using the USB cable. I'm not even sure why they give it to you..Note 3: If you don't have a PC, and only have an Apple Mac, contact Customer Support. They have a link to download application for the Mac. For some reason, its not available for download on the website...Bought this item to reset crash codes: Turns Even once you replace the airbag and seat belts etc you will have to send out the SRS module in some cases and have it wiped and reset. The actual scan tool will not remove/ erace the hard fault.B1209 NISSAN Description Detects component damage resulting from a front collision, blinks or illuminates the air bag warning lamp to inform the driver. The Air Bag Sensor Unit sets the OBDII code when the circuit for the front Left Front Seat Belt Buckle Pre-Tensioner is open.I have a cheap ($25) OBDII scanner that I purchased several years ago, but wanted a scanner that would read ABS codes. I liked the fact that I could use my phone/tablet to view the information, so I wanted to stay with that type of scanner, if possible. I did research and confirmed that the Blue Driver would read ABS codes on my 2008 Trailblazer, so I bought it. I received the Blue Driver, did the software update, plugged it into the Trailblazer, and it couldn't find any codes. I knew that this wrong (both the ABS and Traction Control) lights were on, so I drove over to our auto parts store, and asked if they could run a scan. The did, and sure enough, it showed the code for the left front speed sensor. The Blue Driver was returned the next day, and the Autel MaxiLink ML619 was purchased. The ML619 arrived the next day. That evening, without checking for a software update, I plugged it into my Trailblazer, it showed the same code that the auto store scanner showed. YES!! The next day, I plugged it into my daughter's 2005 Trailblazer, and got two codes (2nd picture). This was a surprise as she didn't have any dash lights on. After that, I plugged it into my 2002 Silverado, and got two codes (1st picture). I was surprised by it showing code C0281 - I was in the midst of changing my rear brake bulb, and hadn't put the new bulb in yet when I ran the scan. With my brief use of this tool, I already love it! The scanner itself, feels sturdy and well made. The cable is long enough to have it plugged in and easily operate, while sitting comfortably in the drivers seat. The screen is easy to read, and the menus are very easy to navigate. The tool itself, is very easy to use. By repairing the codes on the 2 attached pictures myself, this scanner will have paid for itself, so it's basically FREE!!I've searched for a economical scan tool and found this one to check all of my boxes. Easy to load up the software as I did but I would recommend a SD/TF card to USB so that downloading is easier.Works well. Read 4 codes on a 2005 Honda Accord Lx. Showed two ABS codes that led us to replace wheel speed sensors. Also another CEL that led us to a hole in the intake and finally pulled a pending code for SRS on a faulty seatbelt switch. I’m sure this does a lot more than read codes, but it does that at the bare minimum. I just can’t justify the cost to keep this going forward.Crappy Scanner, I've been a journeymen mechanic for 20 years and this is the worst scanner I've used. Supposed to be good for ABS specifically and my 80 dollar cheapy scanner works better then this one. AvoidDoes exactly what it is designed to do and translate of codes to plain English is great. For instance my car had an error code that enforces a limp mode to save the world from too much emissions. The vehicle dealers wanted $2700 to replace the EGR valve but I knew cleaning it and resetting the code would achieve the same outcome. A few months down the track and I know I’ve more than paid for the scanner by not forking out for the EGR valve.I purchased the code scanner because of intermittent check engine light occurrences on my diesel pickup. In doing reviews, I saw the Autel unit was highly recommended. I was able to determine quickly what the problem was, correct it and then clear the code.only recognized srs not abs..
